Before you start tackling the major story quests in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, one of the best ways to make Eivor stronger is to loot your way through much of Norway. Once you set sail for England and set up your camp, it can be easy to forget the treasures of the fjords, but it’s worth it to return and go a-plundering if you need a quick boost.
The Deserted Chalet might seem like a pretty standard location, but it can be difficult to track down the key to open the chest here for that important loot. Here’s what you need to know to find the Deserted Chalet Key.
Where Is The Deserted Chalet?
The Deserted Chalet is in Norway, so you’ll need to travel back if you’ve already packed your bags for England.
Simply go to the World Map, then open the Atlas and head to Norway. Once there, you’ll want to head to a small island in the middle of the Rygjafylke region. You can find it here, straight north of the letter “R” on your map.
Head towards the gold dot on the map, near the northernmost point of that island, and you’ll come across the Deserted Chalet.
Where is the Deserted Chalet Key?
Once you reach the area, head to the main building to find a few pieces of loot and a locked chest. You’ll find a note inside this hut that tells a little about its former owners.
Head outside and you’ll spot another small building. There’s a second note pinned here that gives you a hint on how to move forward.
If you look around, you’ll see there are a ton of tracks in the snow leading north. If you want, you can use your raven to scout, but the tracks aren’t very hard to follow.
Follow them towards the northeastern point of the island, not very far from the Deserted Chalet. You’ll find a small area that has a rock that looks like a triangle on top of a rectangle, almost as if it’s been carved. There is a pack of wolves here that you’ll need to dispatch, but they shouldn’t be overly difficult if you’ve progressed a bit into Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Once you’ve taken out the wolves, search around and you’ll find one more document detailing the fate of the Deserted Chalet owners. You’ll also find a key. Go back to the locked chest and claim your carbon ingot!
